Going into the show, I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy it, I thought it could be quite prudey, however I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the designers and others in attendance. The trade lounge was an exciting place to explore new local brands and meet the designers behind the creations. It was lovely to see a range of wearable fashion for affordable prices; from swimwear, jewellery, casual clothing, eveningwear and accessories.
The catwalk show itself was spectacular! My personal favourites were Nicola Finetti and Nabz and Sabs. Australian icon Nicola Finetti is based in Sydney however I was delighted to discover his designs can be found in David Jones and he has an online boutique, (very dangerous for my wallet). Look at these dresses below, the shapes and tailoring are exquisite and the way they moved down the runway was just stunning. It’s also lovely to see the proud designer come out at the end of their show, and Nicola is so gorgeous!
Another standout of the show was Queensland first androgynous model, Monty Thomas. She was stunning, strutting her stuff down the runway and absolutely stealing the show in a bright red Rivivi6269 gown.
It really was a fun and entertaining evening and I will definitely be back next year to celebrate the events 10th anniversary!
